Dr. RiKo Ramos, Ed.D. serves as the Associate Dean of Advanced Programs in the School of Education at ¹ú²ú¾çÂé¶¹¾ç, where he also serves as Program Director for the Master's in Higher Education program and where he formerly served as an Instructional Designer and Course Developer. As Associate Dean, he advises the Dean on strategic matters, leads curricular and programmatic innovations for advanced programs, and collaborates with university leadership to equip the next generation of educators across California. Before his service at ¹ú²ú¾çÂé¶¹¾ç, Dr. RiKo held significant institutional leadership positions, including serving as Dean of Online and Graduate Studies, Dean of Students, and Title IX Coordinator. He has experience in student affairs, including career services, residential life, spiritual life, campus activities, and day-to-day Title IX and campus safety compliance. Dr. RiKo has served on accreditation committees and led co-curricular assessments, but currently uses his accreditation experience as a reviewer with WASCUC.
At ¹ú²ú¾çÂé¶¹¾ç, he focuses on facilitating learning through a developmental, student-centered approach and on designing curriculum to support diverse populations of learners. His research interests include investigating the relationships among spirituality, resilience, and persistence, exploring faculty care through radical hospitality, and developing theoretical frameworks in online education to increase retention and persistence among historically marginalized communities in higher education.
