With a calling to provide safety and security, the Department of Public Safety is dedicated to serving 国产剧麻豆剧鈥檚 community by fostering a safe learning, working, and living environment. To fully support 国产剧麻豆剧鈥檚 mission, DPS provides campus safety services, emergency response support, security, and assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year-round.
The department is staffed by a director, three assistant directors, 22 public safety officers, and student dispatchers. Each officer is licensed through the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services and certified in CPR and First Aid.
DPS derives its enforcement authority from the 国产剧麻豆剧 Board of Trustees. The main Point Loma Campus and 国产剧麻豆剧鈥檚 San Diego-area regional centers fall under the law enforcement jurisdiction of the San Diego Police Department.
