Benefits

As a participating Yellow Ribbon school, ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç offers up to $10,000 in Yellow Ribbon funds annually to all eligible student-veterans and eligible dependents. With the VA’s dollar matching this scholarship can offer up to a total of $20,000 in tuition in addition to the annual Post-9/11 GIBillÂ®ï¸ benefit. Consideration for Yellow Ribbon funding is automatic for all eligible veterans and dependents, and we offer an unlimited number of Yellow Ribbon scholarships to eligible student veterans and eligible dependents.

¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç offers a flat rate of $250 per unit for all active-duty service members who enroll in one of ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç’s Adult Undergraduate Degree Programs:

Mission

¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç recognizes that our military and veteran population is a very diverse group that brings to our campus vast experiences and knowledge. The mission of ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç Military Programs and Services is to support and advocate for military-connected students in their transition to ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç and their pursuit of intellectual, personal, spiritual, and professional development. We will work continuously to provide a military-inclusive environment so our students can effectively apply their federal education benefits in pursuit of their degree programs and be well-prepared to transition into meaningful careers.

Vision

To be the leading resource for military and VA educational related services for all military-connected students and their families. ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç’s Military Programs and Services will accomplish this by:

  • Easing the transition from military service to student life.
  • Being proficient in all aspects of military billing to include VA and DOD benefits such as the GI Bill®, VA procedures, and academic advising.
  • Continuously improving processes and services.
  • Partnering with university colleagues to provide the resources necessary for our military-connected students to be academically successful.
  • Raising awareness of veterans’ issues among university and local communities and supporting our military-connected students from the first contact through graduation. 
  • Providing internal as well as San Diego community resources for assistance.
  • Creating a space for community and collaboration on campuses through our chapter of the Student Veterans of America.
  • Providing opportunities for recognition in their work study, volunteer, and academic areas that lead to career readiness and placement.
